wik.me uses a structure for knowledge that we believe can support a universal map of human knowledge. This means that all human concepts can be accommodated by the map and that any concept will have one, and only one, position in it.

Getting this map right, particularly for what we call Upper Concept Space, will take plenty of adjustment. The wik.me Tech group is for discussion about these adjustments.

I've deliberately avoided using the term Ontology with reference to wik.me because there's little formal logic implicit within its structures. wik.me maps are only as logical as human thinking.

I invite you to take a look around. If you have an interest in semantic technologies you may notice that the structures are derived from the fantastic public resource that is WordNet.

All questions about how wik.me is implemented are welcome – as are any suggestions for how the site might be improved. Please use the wik.me Tech forum group.

the emerging concept is folksonomy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Folksonomy) which is basically user driven innovation in tagging .... notice new words being coined like prosumer or conducer (professional consumer) or consumer+producer in talking about how public mashes up existing information
